Recently I have heard from a whole new group of parents, loved ones, and arrested persons involved in these proactive police stings. Having been involved in these for just shy of 3 years, I feel I finally have a handle on what is going on, a finger on the pulse if you will.
It seems advocacy, like every other aspect of life, rotates through a cycle of ups and downs, highs and lows, more action – less action. At the moment I am waist deep in events unfolding in front of me.

With a local article coming out next month, a national one on the way, new links to the blog going up on established websites, meetings with legislation, and advances being made in appeals and fights across the nation – I am encouraged, yet still wary. And most certainly weary!
As an update on my own situation, Jace is due to be released on January 2nd. 102 days after his earned release date. Even with zero infractions in the 19 months he’s been incarcerated he will receive no days off for good behavior. Instead he’s had time added. Each step we take shows us areas where this racket was made to keep those ensnared in these stings at a severe disadvantage.
Those without support will end up 100% disenfranchised from society – homeless, jobless, kept in poverty, away from family and friends. Which only makes our fight to end these injustices even more important!

Mankind are more disposed to suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future Security.
